Weekly developmental series

(Coming Soon)

  • A developmental program offering weekly 90-minute group instruction classes. The developmental program runs for 8 weeks and is offered two times/year during the summer at the golf club and indoors at the club during the winter months.

This program is designed for the beginner to novice participant (aged 5 to 9 years old). We begin to introduce them to full swing, short-game, and putting in this program and classes consist of multiple stations focusing on the development of Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS) such as mobility, speed, and beginner golf skills. Themes of grip, posture, alignment, ball position, stance and weight shift will be taught utilizing deliberate play activities to both learn skills and have fun. Introduction to rules, safety issues and etiquette will also be introduced.

Players can remain in this program multiple sessions as the program includes skills testing and progression within each 8-week cycle.

  • This program is designed for the player (aged 10–16 years old) making the step into competitive golf.

We will continue to implement athletic activities such as mobility exercises in their warm-up and increase speed development drills during class as they enter the second speed window of their athletic development. Physical fitness will occupy roughly 30% of their participation including stamina, strength, agility, and stability. They will start to learn more in depth rules and have a strong comprehension of their own games, such as distances with each club, shot tendencies, and risk-reward decision making.

The curriculum will introduce the athlete to more advanced training principles and introductory level competition (Tournament fees will apply). Weekly classes are offered year-round (with some off-season exceptions), with each 90-minute session offering a variety of skill development tasks designed specifically with the new competitor in mind.

On-course lessons

In every other sport, we practice on the playing field, but in golf, we practice on a flat driving range. There is no better way to learn how to score than to be out on the golf course. With your PGA of Canada Professional, you will learn precisely where you can lower your scores.

Your Junior Athlete will get on the course with a PGA of Canada Professional and learn what their strengths are and where they will benefit most in their practice sessions.

golf camps

  • The introduction to the game should consist of short, fun filled and exciting sessions, with a variety of activities that contribute to the development of Functional Motor Skills while providing the opportunity to sample some very basic golf movements. It’s our opinion that formal coaching is of little benefit at this stage.

    120 minutes per day

    $225/Week

  • The fundamental movements of sport are the key focus, in the FUNdamentals phase. We begin to introduce more full swing and putting into the program at this stage and classes consist of multiple stations focusing on the development of Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS) such as mobility, speed, and beginner golf skills. Themes of grip, posture, alignment, ball position, stance and weight shift will be taught utilizing deliberate play activities to both learn skills and have fun. Introduction to rules, safety issues and etiquette will also be introduced.

Please provide necessary hydration, snacks, and sunscreen

A light snack will be provided for this camp

    Camp Tuition - $275 (+HST) for 5 days

  • In this phase we introduce all sport skills, continue with mastery of movement skills and begin to introduce golf specific skills. Your child will continue to develop and master the fundamental movement skills to develop speed, mobility and stability throughout this phase. Other sports that help transfer skills into golf will be integrated into the program. This includes throwing sports, striking sports, target focused sports and wrist release sports. Deliberate play is now slowly replaced by deliberate practice stations.

Nine holes a week of on-course practice with a professional will begin at this stage with the objective of keeping it fun. Course lengths will be adjusted based on maximum driving distance and not based off of the course tee markers. This is how Tiger became Tiger. #tigerpar Appropriate weight and length of golf clubs continues to be paramount in this phase, so please ensure that your child is measured by one of our professional staff. This camp will include a healthy lunch.

  • This is one of the most critical phases since this is where the growth spurt occurs and regression can occur without continued practice.
