chip shot Setup - Tall and Narrow
If you want to vastly improve your chipping game, focus on being Tall & Narrow at address This video will help teach you to set-up with a very narrow stance and taller than normal posture than you are probably used to.
When you take your setup, narrow your stance with your lead foot turned out about 30 degrees or so. Since this is not a power sequence (full swing) you will not need as much knee flex for balance/athletisism and you will instead get down to the ball with more hip hinge (forward bend). This may make you feel uncomfortably close to the ball, which I explain briefly in the video when I drop the ball from the bridge of my nose. My eyes are nearly directly over the ball…
Practice hitting short chip shots with this setup and let me know how it goes.
Remember that roughly 80 percent of this game is in the setup, so if you need a refresher on how to properly setup, you can visit THIS ARTICLE or come see me for a lesson!
Have a great week!
